Tangerine Falls Loop with Bianca - 22 December 2007
Route and Story:
1) Up stream bed from West Fork Cold Spring to bottom of Tangerine Falls.
2) Scramble up the left side of Tangerine Falls to Overlook. Not too dangerous, but very steep and difficult. Lots of loose dirt and rock.
3) Down the back side to the stream bed above the falls.
4) Just above the falls, encountered a young man named Jeff. "How did you get there?" we each said simultaneously to each other. He had come up the right side of the falls. Not a good idea. Someone fell and almost died doing that a few years ago. "Yes, he is a friend of mine. He is down below right now." Jeff told us.
5) He was happy we found another way so he didn't have to climb back down and die. He guided us down the rope that he could see, but we could not. Not very hard with guidance. Interesting to explore that spot just above the falls. Then we climbed back up.
6) We guided him down the "Middle Fork" trail and reunited with his friends.
