Playground - West Camino Cielo - After the Fire - With Bianca - 29 July 2008
This is where the "Gap Fire" began. The scene after the fire is notable in these ways:
Mostly, the fire was not very intense. There are untouched areas scattered among burned areas. Much vegetation remains.
A few places are like the surface of the moon and must have burned with great intensity.
Notice the transition of vegetation colors from black to red to green.
Some vegetation is bleached and dead looking even though it did not burn.
Vultures circled much more than in the past. Huge flies also were new at the Playground.
